BACKGROUND:
The Program Executive Office Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS) was created in 2002 by the Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Research, Development & Acquisition) to be responsible for all Surface Ship and Submarine Combat Systems. The IWS 5 program is responsible for all Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) programs, to include ASW software development for the fleet.
SCOPE:
The Undersea Warfare Decision Support System (USW-DSS) is an ASW command and control (C2) system installed in:
Carrier strike group (CSG) platforms (CVN, CGs/DDGs)
Surveillance Towed Array Systems (SURTASS) ships
Embarked Destroyer Squadron staffs
Select shore nodes, including:
Naval Oceanographic Processing Facilities (NOPF)
Commander Task Force (CTF)/Theater USW Operations Centers (TUSWOC)
USW-DSS enables the networking of ASW forces to collaboratively plan and execute ASW missions. Support services are required to sustain ongoing software support and train warfighters on the use of USW-DSS software modules. Services will be provided via telework/contractor site or on-site at various CTF/TUSWOC locations worldwide.
PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE:
It is anticipated that these services will be needed for a 12-month base period with three 12-month options.
REQUIREMENTS:
The contractor shall provide performance-based, non-personal services and other resources necessary to accomplish operational and program support efforts assigned under this Performance Work Statement (PWS).
Operational support: Required to allow the organization to accomplish its day-to-day mission(s).
Program support: Associated with both standing and ad hoc programs (and projects) to ensure successful, timely completion.
