Aquia Inc. Announces Leadership Transition: Co-Founder David Maskeroni Returns as Chief Executive Officer

Aquia Inc., a cloud and cybersecurity digital services firm, today announced that co-founder David Maskeroni is returning to lead Aquia as chief executive officer. Maskeroni served as the founding CEO before transitioning to chief revenue officer in August 2024, when Chris Hughes assumed the CEO role. Hughes has stepped down and is leaving Aquia as part of a mutually agreed-upon leadership transition.
“We are grateful to Chris for his contributions to Aquia since its founding in 2021, including his support in strengthening key client relationships and serving as a brand advocate,” said David Maskeroni, co-founder and CEO of Aquia.
Over the past year as CEO, Hughes maintained the company’s commitment to technical excellence and quality delivery across Aquia’s growing portfolio of federal client engagements. As a visible advocate for Aquia in the federal marketplace, he helped elevate the company’s profile and strengthen its brand recognition.
“We founded Aquia because we believe deeply in the mission — and that commitment has never wavered,” said Maskeroni. “What makes us strong is that we’re united by purpose and driven by the impact we create.”
