TechSur Solutions is honored to welcome Retired Captain Brian C. Erickson to the team as a Strategic Advisor, who brings the experience of a distinguished 33‑year career in the U.S. Coast Guard to support our strategic growth in data, AI, operations, and national security programs.
Captain Erickson’s exceptional credentials include serving as the U.S. Coast Guard’s first Chief Data & Artificial Intelligence Officer (CDAO), where he championed an enterprise-wide transformation to establish foundational data architectures, integrate AI across mission-critical functions, and empower a workforce of 60,000 with faster, intel-driven decision-making. He retired in June 2025 following a notable tenure as Deputy Director, Department of Homeland Security Presidential Transition Office. In this capacity, he managed multi-agency transition operations, ensuring mission continuity and strategic alignment during a presidential handover.
He is a 2022 CDO Magazine U.S. Federal Data Executive and has been named as a 2022 and 2024 DataIQ top 100 most influential persons in data. In 2023, he was named AI Leader of the Year at the AI100 awards at Machine Con. The Government Technology & Services Coalition (GTSC) awarded Erickson with the Homeland Security Trailblazer Award in 2024, to honor his enduring impact on national security and innovation.
