General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE:GD), announced today the release of its Artificial Intelligence (AI) Fraud, Waste and Abuse (FWA) detection solution governmentwide.
Leveraging advanced AI, machine learning, large language models and natural language processing technologies, the solution will enable federal agencies to proactively detect and prevent fraudulent and improper payments. The AI FWA solution is part of the company’s suite of Mission AI solutions and can be customized to unique agency mission needs. The solution is designed for large-scale mission applications, including healthcare claims, benefit payments, food safety and financial fraud.

GDIT’s experience applying AI to identify fraud, waste and abuse has enabled federal health customers to achieve significant cost savings. Healthcare fraud is a critical issue in the U.S. with some estimates showing the problem could be as large as 10% of a $4 trillion market. Deploying AI has detected fraud with greater than 90% accuracy – far surpassing traditional detection methods – and has enabled GDIT to identify more than $1 billion in savings annually for the federal government.
